Special Seminar Series "Flagbearers on Energy" in Ghana
Making the energy crises in Ghana a thing of the past- but how? In an attempt to get to the bottom of this question, the Energy Centre (TEC) at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) takes advantage of 2008 being an election year in Ghana and will organise a series of seminars in April 2008. In these "Flagbearers on Energy" special seminar series future political leadership of the country have the opportunity to lay out their visions for a crisis-free energy sector contributing towards the definition of policy frameworks for achieving this goal. The seminars will provide a platform for each of the presidential flagbearers of Ghana's main political parties to present their ideas for energy sector development in Ghana. It will also create a forum for lecturers, students and the general public to gain an insight into the plans of presidential flagbearers to establish favourable policy frameworks for energy sector development in Ghana. Moreover, the views of Ghana's presidential flagbearers on energy will be documented to facilitate future reference and learning elsewhere in Africa, and the world at large.
